What to Serve with Garlic Soy Glazed Chicken
This chicken goes really well with cold sesame noodles. The cool, nutty flavor of the noodles pairs nicely with the warm, savory sauce. You can also serve it with steamed bok choy or any leafy greens for a fresh and healthy side. Add some chicken and cabbage dumplings to make it a full and tasty meal!

Substitutions
- Chicken Thighs: You can also use chicken legs or chicken breasts if that’s what you have. Just adjust the cooking time a bit to make sure they’re fully cooked and still tender.
- Vegetable Oil: If you’re out of vegetable oil, canola oil or avocado oil work just as well. They both have a neutral flavor and are great for high-heat cooking.
- Shaoxing Wine: If you don’t have Shaoxing wine, you can use dry sherry, dry white wine, Taiwanese cooking wine, or any other mild cooking wine.

FAQ
`1. Does soy sauce go well with chicken?
Yes, soy sauce is a great match for chicken. It adds a salty, rich flavor, especially when used with light soy sauce or dark soy sauce as a secret ingredient in marinades or glazes.
2. How to thicken a glaze for chicken?
To thicken a glaze, simmer it until it reduces, or mix a little cornstarch with a splash of water and stir it in. Keep the chicken in a single layer while cooking, and add a bit of chicken broth if it gets too thick.
