Taiwanese Stir-Fried Cabbage with Garlic

Homestyle Taiwanese stir-fried cabbage with garlic is a quick and flavorful dish that combines tender cabbage and fragrant garlic. Ready in under 15 minutes!

Ingredients
 

  • ½ head Taiwanese cabbage
  • 10 clove garlic, thinly sliced
  • splash of Taiwanese cooking wine, or sub with Shaoxing wine
  • ½ tsp salt, plus more to taste
  • ½ tsp white pepper, plus more to taste
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • ¼ cup dried shrimp, soaked and rehydrated (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Tear the cabbage leaves into large, bite-sized pieces. Then wash them thoroughly.
  • In a wok or large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic slices and stir-fry until fragrant.
  • Add the cabbage and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes. Add a splash of Taiwanese cooking wine (or Shaoxing wine) around the edge of the wok. Continue tossing until the cooking wine is dissolved.
  • Add salt, white pepper, and chicken bouillon powder. Taste and adjust seasoning. Then toss in rehydrated shrimp if using. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the cabbage is tender but still crisp. Serve hot immediately and enjoy!
