Easy Wonton Noodle Soup Recipe

This homemade wonton noodle soup is quick and easy to make. With just a few ingredients and simple steps, you can make this wonton noodle soup at home that is better than your regular takeout.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp chicken buillon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 1 package wonton noodles or egg noodles (14 oz)
  • 25-30 wontons (homemade or store-bought), *See Notes*
  • handful of bok choy
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a pot, add chicken stock, chicken bouillon, soy sauce, salt, and white pepper. Stir to combine and bring it to a simmer.
  • While the broth is simmering, add water to a separate pot and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, cook the wonton noodles for 45 seconds. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same pot, add bok choy and blanch until tender and crisp. Drain and set aside.
  • Gently drop your wontons. Cook for about 5 minutes or until they float to the top and are cooked through.
  • Transfer the noodles, bok choy, and cooked wontons to a bowl. Ladle hot chicken broth into the bowl and top with chopped green onions. Drizzle some chili oil on top if you like spicy. Serve the soup immediately and enjoy!

Notes

I always have my Pork Wontons and Shrimp Wontons in the freezer ready to use. You can make your own wontons or use any store-bought wontons.
