Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb thinly sliced beef, ribeye or sirloin
  • ½ Korean pear or apple, cubed
  • ½ yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onion, cut into long 3 segments
  • 4 clove garlic, minced
  • cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp gochujang, (optional)
  • tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Prepare the marinade: Add Korean pear, 1/4 yellow onion, garlic, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, honey, and gochujang into a blender. Blend until smooth
  • Marinate the beef: In a bowl, add the sliced beef, 1/4 of yellow onion, green onion, and sesame seeds. Pour the prepared marinade into the bowl and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Cook the beef: Heat 1 tbsp of cooking oil in a large skillet or cooking pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef (in batches if needed) and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  • Sprinkle more sesame seeds on top and serve beef bulgogi with rice and veggies. Enjoy!
