Crispy Shrimp Toast Recipe

Shrimp Toast is a popular Chinese appetizer where seasoned shrimp paste is sandwiched between two slices of bread, then fried until crispy. Traditionally deep fried, this air fryer version gives you the same crunch texture and rich flavor, without the mess or excess oil.

  • Finely chop the shrimp into little pieces.
  • In a bowl, combine minced shrimp, garlic, green onion, salt, white pepper, sugar, garlic powder, and cornstarch. Mix until pasty and sticky.
  • Remove the crust from the bread. Then add a generous amount of shrimp filling onto each bread slice. Spread evenly to smooth it out. Then place another bread on top and gently press them together.
  • Preheat the oven to 400F.
  • Place the shrimp toast in the air fryer basket and spray generously with cooking spray on both sides.
  • Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping them halfway, until golden brown and shrimp is cooked through.
  • For the dipping sauce, mix Kewpie mayo and sriracha together until well combined. Serve the shrimp toast immediately with dipping sauce and enjoy!
