Babymooning at Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort: A Hawaiian Escape
Our recent babymoon at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort was truly unforgettable — the perfect blend of romance, Hawaiian culture, and pure relaxation. From waking up to ocean views in our luxurious king-bed room to paddling a canoe at sunrise and savoring an elevated Chef’s Table experience, here’s how we spent our dreamy Maui escape.

Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort
Andaz Maui is set on 15 acres of lush beachfront on Mokapu Beach, which is about 30 minutes south of the Maui Kahului Airport (OGG). From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed into something peaceful and joyful — like we were stepping into a slower, sunnier rhythm of life. The openness of the resort — pool terraces cascading toward the sea, tropical plants everywhere, and the sound of surf in the background — felt like an instant reset.
Check-in was breezy and personal. From the moment we arrived on property, we were treated with big smiles and warm welcome. As soon as our car rolled up to the valet entrance, we were immediately greeted with a lei and were given welcome drinks as we checked in at the front desk. We knew right away that we picked the perfect place for our babymoon.

Why We Chose Andaz Maui for Our Babymoon

Wailea has always had that polished, peaceful side of Maui we love, and Andaz feels like it was made for this kind of trip. It’s modern but still very rooted in Hawaiian culture, with open-air walkways, lush greenery everywhere, and the ocean basically following you around the entire resort. The vibe is calm, stylish, and never stuffy — which was perfect for a trip that was all about relaxing and just being together before life gets wonderfully chaotic.
We wanted something that wasn’t too far from our home in Los Angeles. From LA, you’re looking at about a 5–6 hour nonstop flight to Maui. That’s long enough to feel like you truly went somewhere, but not so long that travel feels exhausting or uncomfortable during pregnancy. No crazy time zone change either — Maui is only a few hours behind, so your body adjusts quickly. We stayed in Maui for a total of 5 days, 4 nights.

Our Room and Babymoon Welcome
We stayed in an Ocean View King Room, and waking up there felt like a dream every morning. The sliding doors opened onto our lanai with expansive ocean views that made it hard to leave the room in the mornings — we’d just sit with coffee and listen to the waves while the sun lit up the water. Inside, the room was airy and bright with comfortable furnishings and subtle island design details that made it feel like a home away from home.

What made it extra special was the thoughtful babymoon welcome waiting for us in the room. We arrived to complimentary local snacks and Maui drinks (including local beer), plus a selection of little gifts that felt like they were chosen just for this moment in our lives. They even gave us a baby onesie and children’s book for our future baby – how sweet!

What We Did: Adventure + Relaxation
Walking On the Beach
The property sits directly on the beachfront, which makes it incredibly convenient to walk right from the pools to the sand within minutes. The open-air pathways, tropical landscaping, and ocean views around every corner made even a short walk feel scenic and peaceful. We took advantage of the beach and try to walk as much as possible. The sand, the sound of the waves, and the Maui sunsets made those slow strolls feel extra special — simple moments we’ll always remember.

Outrigger Canoeing on the Pacific
Andaz offers various free activities to enjoy on site. One of our favorite mornings was spent gliding across the calm water in an outrigger canoe. A local tour guide took us out into the water and we were able to see a different side of the coastal view. It was peaceful, refreshing, and just the perfect way to start our morning.

Poolside Lounging
Andaz’s pools are next level. The cascading infinity pools overlooking the ocean became our daily hangout spot. We’d claim chairs, order drinks from the poolside bar, snack, swim a little, then go back to lounging. No schedule, no pressure — just sun, water, and baby kicks reminding us why this trip was so special.

Couple’s Spa Day & Massages
My #1 Babymoon rule: you have to treat yourself and do a spa day. We booked a couples massage at ʻĀwili Spa & Salon, and it was everything. I got the 60-minute specialty full-body prenatal massage and my husband got the medium pressure deep tissue massage. Soft music, calming scents, and that floaty, post-massage feeling where you forget what day it is. It was such a nice way to slow down and really be present together.

Laʻau Show & Cultural Experience
On our last night, we did the Feast at Mōkapu Lūʻau Experience, and it ended up being one of the most meaningful and fun parts of the trip. I have seen Lu’au in the past, but this one was on another level and the performance was absolutely breathtaking. Through storytelling, music, and dance, we learned more about Hawaiian culture and traditions. It added depth to the vacation and made us feel more connected to the place, not just visiting it.

Everything We Ate: A Culinary Experience
Daily Breakfast Buffet
Daily breakfast was included in our hotel stay. Every morning, we’d wake up and head over to Ka’ana Kitchen for a beautifully curated breakfast buffet, featuring tons of options from fresh tropical fruit and made-to-order omelets to local specialties.
Service was fantastic. The restaurant itself has both indoor and outdoor seating that overlooks the pools and ocean, making it a beautiful and relaxing place to start the day at the Andaz Maui.

Ka’ana Kitchen Chef’s Table Tasting Experience
The highlight of our culinary journey was the Chef’s Table Tasting Experience at Ka’ana Kitchen. This multi-course tasting menu celebrated local Hawaiian produce and flavors, with creative dishes that changed with the seasons. We were seated in front of the open kitchen, and our chefs took us through each course, making it a personalized and unforgettable dinner. My husband also added on the wine pairing option to each course, hand selected by their expert sommelier.

The chefs thoughtfully curate a customized six-course menu for us. Each and every dish was incredible, especially this Australian Wagyu Hangar Stead with Papaya Salad. It was hands down one of the most delicious meal I’ve ever had!

Final Thoughts: Why You Should Take the Trip
Our babymoon at Andaz Maui was everything we hoped it would be: restful, romantic, and full of little moments we’ll always remember. Between ocean views from our room, slow pool days, cultural experiences, and incredible food, it felt like the most beautiful pause before our next big adventure — becoming parents.
If you want a babymoon that’s equal parts luxury, culture, and pure relaxation, this is such a dreamy place to do it. Truly one of those trips we’ll talk about forever.
