Description

Beef Pepper Rice is an easy one-pan meal served on a sizzling hot plate that features slices of beef, steamed rice, and a generous amount of black pepper, all topped with corn and savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g thinly sliced beef
  • 1 large bowl cooked rice
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup canned corn
  • 1.5 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onion, chopped

Sauce

  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. In a small pan, add minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, and honey. Mix well and simmer until the sauce slightly thickens. Turn off the heat and set it aside .
  2. Prepare a sizzling hot plate or cast-iron pan. Heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat and add sliced onion. Sauté until onions are soft and fragrant.
  3. Move the onions to the center of the hot plate and place a bowl of cooked rice on top. Arrange the sliced beef around the rice, making sure it’s in direct contact with the hot surface.
  4. Add corn, chopped green onion, butter, and freshly ground black pepper on top of the rice. Drizzle the sauce over the beef and rice. Give it a good mix and enjoy straight from the hot pan.
