Description

This easy one pot wonton soup features savory wontons and veggies served in an aromatic broth. Light yet flavorful, this comforting soup is perfect for a cozy meal. Done in 15 minutes! (This recipe yields 2 servings)


Ingredients

  • 1012 fresh or frozen wontons (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp cooking wine
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 2 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fried shallots
  • bok choy
  • Garnish: more chopped green onions and fried shallots

Wonton Soup:

  1. In a pot, add chicken broth, soy sauce, cooking wine, sesame oil, salt, white pepper, chopped green onions, and fried shallots. Stir to combined and bring it to a boil. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  2. Once the broth is boiling, carefully add the frozen wontons, stirring gently to prevent them from sticking. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the wontons float to the top. 
  3. At the last minute, throw the boy choy into the broth and cook until tender.
  4. Garnish with more green onions and fried shallots. Serve hot and enjoy!
