Great way to use stale croissant, this viral grilled cheese sandwich combines spicy kimchi with melted cheese, all sandwiched together between two candied buttery croissants. Who doesn’t like crispy, sweet, salty, and buttery exterior with a little bit of spice and amazing cheese pull!

- 2 croissants
- 1–2 tbsp unsalted butter
- honey for drizzle
- 2 slices of American or cheddar cheese
- 2 slices of Gruyere or Muenster cheese
- Kimchi
Instructions
- Using a rolling pin, roll the croissants until flattened and thin.
- Heat a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Add butter and wait until it is melted. Add the first croissant and drizzle honey on both sides. Cook until both sides are caramelized and golden brown. Repeat the process with the second croissant.
- To make the sandwich, pile the cheeses followed by kimchi to the first candied croissant. Place the other croissant on top. Press down gently with your hand or a spatula. Cook until the cheese is melted. If the croissant is getting too brown or burnt, lower the heat or remove from the stove to cool down.
- Cut into half for the cheese pull. Enjoy!
