Description

Miso mushroom udon is a savory and umami-rich noodle that combines thick, chewy udon and savory miso garlic cream sauce. This effortless meal is my go-to recipe whenever I feel lazy and don’t really feel like cooking but still crave something comforting and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 servings of frozen udon noodles
  • 4 clove garlic, mined
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups of mushroom, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp miso paste
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • furikake, for garnish (optional)
  • sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook udon noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water. Then set it aside.
  2. In a pan, melt butter. Then add garlic, onion, and mushroom. Saute for a few minutes until onion and mushrooms are soft and fragrant.
  3. Add heavy cream and miso paste to the pan. Stir and mix until the sauce is smooth and well combined. Bring the sauce to a boil.
  4. Add cooked udon noodles and coat them evenly with the salt. Add salt and black pepper to taste. To finish off, top with furikake and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
