Description
Chili Garlic Silken Tofu is a flavorful dish that features soft and silky tofu topped with spicy and aromatic chili garlic sauce, and can be made in under 10 minutes! This is what I make whenever I don’t feel like cooking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of silken tofu (14 oz)
- 1/2 tbsp chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 3–4 clove garlic, minced
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp black vinegar
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hot oil
- Rice (optional)
Instructions
- To make the sauce, combine chili flakes, chili powder, minced garlic, chopped green onion, black vinegar, Shaoxing wine, and soy sauce together.
- Carefully remove the silken tofu from its packaging and drain any excess water. Place a plate on top of the package, flip it over, and place the tofu on a plate or shallow dish. You can also gently pat the tofu with a paper towel to remove excess moisture, but be careful as silken tofu is very delicate and can break easily.
- Pour the chili garlic sauce over the tofu.
- In a small saucepan, heat 2 tbsp of oil and pour the hot sizzling oil over the tofu to bring out the flavors and aroma. Serve as a cold dish and enjoy.
To Serve as a Hot Dish:
- Steam the tofu for about 10 minutes.
- Pour the sauce and hot oil over the tofu.
- Serve with fluffy steamed rice and enjoy!
