With the air fryer, the chicken comes out juicy and super flavorful with a perfectly caramelized teriyaki glaze. Serve over steamed rice and vegetables, and you’ll have a salivating meal that will satisfy all your takeout cravings. 


Ingredients

  • 34 chicken thigh or chicken breast
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tsp ginger, minced
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar 
  • 3 tsp cornstarch 

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, minced garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and cornstarch together. 
  2. In another bowl, add chicken. Then pour 1/3 of the sauce on the chicken. Give it a good mix and let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400F.
  4. Place the chicken thighs skin side up in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes. Brush the chicken skin lightly with the teriyaki sauce, then cook for another 5 minutes until skin turns golden brown. 
  5. While the chicken thighs are in the air fryer, add the remaining sauce to a pan and cook over medium heat. Stir occasionally and let it simmer until the sauce thickens. 
  6. Cut the cooked chicken into slices or cubes. Pour the teriyaki sauce over chicken. Serve hot with rice and some vegetables. Enjoy!
